Please note: The large Stephania Erecta is currently only available for click and collect to our Derbyshire store.
The Stephania Erecta is one of our more unusual houseplants that we sell at the Horticulture. It’s even a rare houseplant too so you don’t see many of them for sale. The Stephania Erecta can normally be found in Thailand.
It’s actually a caudex so it grows from a large bulb. The Stephania will go dormant at least once a year and the caudex should be kept completely dry in a cool dry spot. In January give the plant a good soak for 24 hours and then plant the caudex on top of the soil. After a few weeks, the plant will slowly wake up and you will have another beginning to grow.
The general care with these guys are simple! Treat them similar to a succulent or a cactus and you won’t go wrong with this plant. Position in a bright / indirect spot.
Please note: All plants are unique and so may not appear exactly like that in the photos, but will be of a similar size and variety.
